Don Lazas MD
Donald J. Lazas, MD, FACP, AGAF Dr. Lazas is a physician leader specializing in the care of digestive diseases with over 25 years of experience in patient care, healthcare management & delivery, clinical research, and entrepreneurial innovation, both in and outside the medical practice setting. Dr. Lazas is a partner at Nashville specialty practice Associates in Gastroenterology. He is the co-founder and medical director of Digestive Health Research, a leading regional clinical research company, and the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Objective GI, a national research business operating clinical trial sites in partnership with gastroenterologists. Don is a seasoned investor and consultant in medical technology businesses and has focused expertise in realizing the impact and opportunity of technology as it pertains to the physician-patient encounter. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of the prominent Nashville angel investment company, NueCura Partners. Don is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine and received post-graduate and fellowship training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Lazas is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. While serving in the United States Army, Don achieved the rank of Major in the Army Medical Corps. Most important to Dr. Lazas is his wife Kathy of 34 years, his 5 children, grandchildren, and extended family and the faith that guides him daily.
