Kevin A. Clauson, Pharm.D., is an Associate Professor at the Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. He began investigating the potential for blockchain technology to address challenges with the health supply chain in 2015 as follow-up to his previous work as founding director of a World Health Organization Collaborating Center. Dr. Clauson has explored blockchain for clinical trial data sharing at the White House, CryptoKitties and CryptoZombies as hands-on assignments with his students, and serves in roles including the editorial board of Blockchain in Healthcare Today, HIMSS Blockchain Working Group, and IEEE Blockchain Clinical Trials SMEs. Dr. Clauson recently received the Blockchain for Education Collaboration Award, recognizing the initiative he lead for Lipscomb University in partnership with Hashed Health to build a system on the Ethereum platform to allow graduates and potential employers to verify credentials of health professions students. His digital health research appears in journals, books, and other media and his work has generated coverage by the New York Times, Forbes.com, Wall Street Journal, and BBC Radio. Dr. Clauson received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee – Memphis and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
