Stuart Lackey is the Co-Founder and CEO of Solaster, a company focused on creating a new, global health data language standard for decentralized applications and smart contracts. Prior to Solaster, Mr. Lackey worked in the med-tech startup world for 16 years, bringing new, disruptive technologies to market across the United States. Throughout his career, he has spent considerable time in consulting with hospitals network and physician provider groups in the area of economic and clinical value assessment of new technologies. With that, he has also observed some of healthcare’s biggest challenges: administrative waste, misaligned incentives, lack of data interoperability and overspending across the continuum of care. In mid-2016, Mr. Lackey first began researching the healthcare implications of distributed ledger technology and became extremely passionate around its potential to empower global patient populations. It was this interest and the implications of patient data sovereignty that helped inspire Solaster. Mr. Lackey has been a guest panelist and speaker at multiple blockchain healthcare conferences and recently attended Tim Draper’s inaugural Executive Blockchain Summit in San Mateo, CA. Mr. Lackey earned his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Informatics from Lipscomb University in 2018.
